Thank You Pearlman Geller Foundation!
Because of YOUR willingness to Stand Up For 2 Friendships to support new Walk With Sally matches through their first critical year, we were able to match Barbara & Rochelle on October 3, 2017 and Frank & Aiden on November 14, 2017.
Barbara & Rochelle
Rochelle is 10 years old and recently lost her dad to stage 4 lung cancer. She enjoys creating art and makes any excuse to play outside. Rochelle has had a hard time expressing herself and prefers to be distracted by the gooey awesomeness of “slime”.
Barbara lost her mom at age 9. She understands the uncertainty, frustration and sadness that comes with grief, especially at Rochelle’s age. Since she also loves being outside, we know these two will become fast friends!
Frank & Aiden
Aiden is 10 years old, an only child and lives with the only parents he has ever known, his Grandparents. Now his grandfather is battling an un-curable form of cancer and there is a lot of uncertainty and anxiety at home. Aiden, who dreams of being an inventor or an architect, suffers from severe ADD and has outbursts of anger struggling to process everything at home.
Frank witnessed and cared for several loved ones while they battled cancer and understands the pressure and stress it creates. Since he also loves science and has a flare for past inventors of history, we know he can help provide a safe, joyous and creative space for Aiden to learn to talk about his Grandpa!
