Because of YOUR willingness to Stand Up For a Friendship to support a new Walk With Sally match through it’s first critical year, we helped Jon & Walker close their friendship successfully and created a new match between Frank & Aiden on November 11, 2017.
Jon & Walker
We sometimes see a friendship close before the one year mark due to many circumstances. Walker and his father realized that his commitments to sports and tutoring were out weighing his ability to see Jon. Although Jon was disappointed, he recognized the importance of those activities and valued the time they did share. This friendship allowed for Walker to feel confident in pursuing his interests in magic and not feel intimidated by his peers. The door is always open at WWS for either mentor and mentee to be rematched.
Frank & Aiden
Aiden is 10 years old, an only child and lives with the only parents he has ever known, his Grandparents. Now his grandfather is battling an un-curable form of cancer and there is a lot of uncertainty and anxiety at home. Aiden, who dreams of being an inventor or an architect, suffers from severe ADD and has outbursts of anger struggling to process everything at home.
Frank witnessed and cared for several loved ones while they battled cancer and understands the pressure and stress it creates. Since he also loves science and has a flare for past inventors of history, we know he can help provide a safe, joyous and creative space for Aiden to learn to talk about his Grandpa!
