Thank You Chevron!
Because of YOUR willingness to Stand Up For a Friendship to support a new Walk With Sally match through it’s first critical year, we were able to match Alex & Ismael on May 3, 2018.
Alex & Ismael,
Ismael’s mom, Alma, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. After countless treatments with little progress, she decided to stop treatments all together. Ismael, the oldest of four siblings, has truly been affected by Alma’s deteriorating health and has found that drawing is his main emotional outlet. Though reluctant to extend himself to anyone new, he was curious about who might want to be his match.
Ismael was matched with Alex, a musician and artist himself! Alex lost his own father only months before getting involved with WWS. He is kind hearted, goofy and patient. He has no trouble laughing at himself and wanted to support a young man experiencing similar pain as his own. The pair is having fun relating through art and Ismael is happy to have someone in his corner. Someone who understands and allows him to just be himself, happy or sad.
Because you stood up, you are now forever a part of this friendship and their journey. See you in 6 months! -The Walk With Sally Team
