The Right Community – Walk With Sally Social Club
As a young, professional living in the South Bay and throughout Los Angeles, finding a community to impact can be difficult. Finding one that is like minded and looking to give back, even more challenging. Queue Walk With Sally Social Club. We are 20 and 30 somethings looking for fun, meaningful ways to spend our time. Social Club’s fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and mixers are always for the kids to support Walk With Sally’s vision that no child finds itself walking a loved one’s cancer journey alone.
How Can I Get Involved?
Whether you’re looking to mentor a child struggling with a family member or guardian’s cancer battle, wanting to strengthen your leadership skills, or hoping to meet new friends, Social Club is for you. Our casual mixers, happy hours and networking events are equal parts no pressure and a guaranteed good time.
How Can I Help?
Walk With Sally is always looking for event volunteers, social media support, full time mentors, and more. If you can attend one event, wonderful! If you’d like to become a mentor, awesome! Why Is Mentoring Important?
Not only do children who are mentored receive better grades in school, but children who meet regularly with their mentors are 46% less likely than their peers to start using illegal drugs and 27% less likely to start drinking. Walk With Sally’s free mentoring programs are helping children across Los Angeles County cope with the trauma they are experiencing from a loved one’s cancer by pairing mentors with mentees who have shared experiences.
