WWS Happenings Feb 2017

We’ve all been working on our New Year’s Resolutions, here’s what has been happening while you were at the gym…

All About Science

Earlier this year 21 kids joined their mentors at Apple to learn how to code. Using iPads they were able to direct these small electronic balls through the maze on the floor of the store.

We are now 4 weeks into our Friendship Bowl Campaign. This year we are striving to support 16 new friendships by raising $80,000! We are well on our way to our goal but are still looking for a few new teams and fundraisers who want to help build friendships!

We Love Mentors!

Walk With Sally topped off our Mentor Appreciation Month on January 28th with a mentor training for 11 new mentors! As soon as they complete the required follow-up steps they will be matched with some of the 42 kids on our wait list.

Hope at The Holidays

A special thank you to all the donors who adopted our families for the Holidays through our Hope For The Holidays Program: Glassberg Family, Tombor Family, Sharer-McDaniel Family, Harrington Family, Hunt Family, Epic Real Estate, Dealer.com, Michele McRae and Malcolm Gill, Epsteen and Associates, Alex Moreno, Neptunian Woman’s Club of Manhattan Beach, DeeAnn Sims, Paul Martins American Grill, FTK-Social Club, Monica Sears and Nicholas Mendez. Your support made the holidays that much brighter for some of our families, thank you!

FTK Social Club is hosting their annual single’s mixer with the theme “Singled Out,” an homage to the old school MTV dating show. Come mix and mingle, network and give back to a great cause!
